start everybody. I think everybody's we've done a sound check. We'll do another round once we do it. Okay, I'm going to call the meeting to order today's date. This is the House Subcommittee of the Select Committee on Legislative Ethics. Today's day is Thursday, January 15th. The time is 1.02 p.m. Alaska Standard time. And if we could do before we do a roll call, maybe we can do real quick soundcheck. So this is Connor Thomas and I'm thinking people can hear me. So we'll go from there. So skip. Yes, I am here. OK. And we're not doing a roll call. I just want to make we are doing a sound check. Deb, do you hear a skip? You can't hear skip! Are Deb can you here me? No. I can here Connor. I could hear Skip. I hear everybody. We can do it. We could here at the LIO. We couldn't here Skip! Okay, Connor, if I may, please. If I can just do a roll call and we can see if we've got everyone, if there are communication issues and one location or the other cannot hear someone, I could restate any comments that they make. Does that meet with your approval? Mr. Chair? Yeah, let's go ahead and do the roll called in. And I mean, I can here everybody so okay so here's the important thing folks since we are doing this by teams please make sure that you close to the mic so that we can hear you the other thing in the upper right hand corner of your team's meeting please make sure that your mic is unchecked and for the those of you that are at a different location please make Your audio for example if you're on the laptop that your your speakers are Unmuted, okay, so with that in mind we'll do a roll call representative Galvin present representative McCabe present chair Connor Thomas here Joyce Anderson here skip cook here Deb Fancher here Carl White All right, mr. Chair we have a quorum I hear everyone now can any of the locations not hear another location The LIO in Anchorage. I believe you said You could not your skip wait Kevin. This is a bridge Lio. We cannot hear on her skip No, Connor, would you speak again? Yeah, I mean people it Yeah You're on your skit. I don't know why you can't hear me. Um I'll tell you guys if can you still hear? Me you have a parentheses by your name that says unverified under audio I don't have that. The Davis team hub doesn't have. That and Jamie, you don?t have that, but there is a box parentheses that says that you're unverified. I again, that's the difference that I see between mine and yours. No, you say unverified on my screen. You say un verified on my screen? I do not know. We have un verified on all of you. Okay. Well, you can hear us. But no, cook. We hear all folks in Juneau. Well, we don't. Connor, would you speak again? Yeah, I'm I 'm speaking and better. No, can't hear Connor or skip. Okay, Joyce, you're going to have to get the LIO folks to help you out there because everyone else is is communicating. There's an issue there. Okay. Is it possible for one of you to call in to the Juno LIO and then have your phone on speaker? Yeah. We can do that. At least I could do this. I think Jamie went to get somebody. Okay, we think, Jamie, he went, gave me one to give some help. Okay but in the interim, what we can, representative Galvin's idea is excellent. and listed on the agenda, then you can hear the audio so that we can move forward with the meeting. It's a duct tape fix. I'm looking for the number right now. It should be right on the Agenda. It should be They said it was I mean, that number is Anchorage only right now. Yeah. Oh, we need Connor. The only thing is the Anchorage people, right? Yeah, I mean the rest of us are good. I think that's right. Connor, can you hear me? I can hear you. Okay, Connor, here's the outside of Anchorage. You ready? Okay. Stop. I've got to stop. I have it. But I don't think I need to call in. I could hear everybody. Please stop the only one that needs to call and is the Anchorage LIO is a temporary fix so they can hear. If, Skip, if you and Connor and Deb, please do not dial in. The only one that's going to dial-in is the LIO in Anchorage as an interim fix. Then they will be able to hear the audio through gavel to gavil. We can proceed with the meeting until such time as we get to the executive session and then hopefully the Anchorage Lio will have sorted the issue. Does that help everyone? All right, thank you don't don' call in is what you said that is correct. I was in and I was just hanging up. Okay, I'm off again. Nobody calls in, but Joyce or Carl or traffic. Dan, why don´t you see him? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. Okay. Okay, okay. Okay we have to turn off, you have two speakers going in the LIO in Anchorage. That's why we're getting the reverb. Did you call me? Ian, how are we doing in the L.I.O.? Jackie, try to stop. Why? Why. We really just need to skip to talk. Let's see if they can. I'm calling to tell them. The other issue that if there is a way of fixing it, it looks like Juneau and Anchorage are miles away. We can't see faces at all, they're so far away and if they could be zoomed in, it would really be helpful. Hey, Skips, since we're at any at ease and they need to hear voices anyway. How's your wife doing? about the same other place I'm sorry how are you doing I am doing well okay what phones have you got dialed in just yours okay the only thing that's keeping us from going forward I think at this point is you are getting reverb because the The mic and the speaker on the computer are horrible. The good thing we're not trying to fix a problem on this space shuttle, isn't it? Hey, Connor, could you go to Annette East, please? So we gavel off and go off the record. All right, we'll take an add ease the time now is 212 Me a little credit. I'm gonna gavel us back in now. Okay, Connor, I have you Deb. Do I? Have you? Uh one two three four five Skimp Hello, hello, okay Lio Everyone Is that possible all right? Connor at church where we're live and we are on the record. Oh Okay, I'm going to gavel back in. The ad is over. It is now 116 Alaska Standard Time. We have moved through the roll call. We're now at approval of agenda, so I would entertain a motion to approve the agenda. Hopefully everybody has in front of them. So moved. Any objections Are there any members of the public that are interested in commenting at today's meeting? Mr. Chair, the only we have no one for public comment at this time. Okay, moving on, and the next matter is I entertain a motion to move into executive session to discuss matters which by law must remain confidential under Alaska statute 2461-6. Uniform Rule 22B regarding executive sessions and rules of procedure section 5, executive sessions in discussion of matters, the immediate knowledge, which would adversely affect the finances of governmental unit and discussion subject that tend to prejudice the reputation and character of a person. So with that, I would entertain a motion to move into executive session. Yeah, that was representing the case. Yes. Sorry. Okay. Thank you. That's all right All right, so Now we need to move into executive session Mr. Chair if you will give me just a couple of minutes to get us set up to go into Executive Session And I will confirm that we're ready at such time Okay Mr. Chair, this is the select committee for legislative ethics house subcommittee. We've just come out of executive session. The time now is 2 p.m. Alaska standard time. There's nothing else on the agenda. I would entertain a motion to adjourn. the without objection the meeting is adjourned once again that's 2 p.m. Alaska Standard Time so I guess we'll stand by for the full committee meeting which starts at 2.30 is that correct? Yes. Mr. Chair that is correct for the people attending by teams though it's a different team's login so go to the meeting invitation.
